The THETA family of sensors consists of several versions of mid-range portable feedback broad band seismometers housed inside waterproof enclosures. These low noise, high dynamic range broad band seismometers are based on newly designed sensors with a truly rectilinear suspension system. They do not require mass lock for transportation, are user friendly and easy to install.
THETA Standard Version
The standard product of the THETA family is a mid-range, low-noise seismometer designed to be deployed in vaults or shallow surface installations. Packaged in a rugged vessel of anodized aluminium its three components are oriented in the classical orthogonal configuration, pointing into the three cardinal directions. This unit is a cost effective network sensor.
The THETA digital is an easy to use digital output broadband seismometer. It is based on a THETA Standard seismometer mated with a 8-channel, 24-bit TAU digitizer. Together these units are housed inside a waterproof enclosure of anodized aluminium. The 8-channel 24-bit digitiser exploits the high dynamic range of the truly rectilinear sensors forming a perfect portable seismometer.
This slim line seismometer is based on the truly rectiliniear mid-range seismic sensors. It can be used as a posthole or a borehole instrument, rated for wet boreholes down to a depth of 300 m. This three component instrument can operate in a tilt range of up to 25 degrees off the vertical.
