Gaiacode attends British Seismology Meeting

09 Aug

Gaiacode will attend this year's British Seismology Meeting (BSM2022) to be held in Cambridge in mid September. In addition to displaying our full product line within the framework of the meeting's exhibition, during the technical part of the conference we will present the concept behind a completely new, truely innovative sensor design which we realize in the THETA and SIGMA families of seismic instruments.

This year's meeting is the third conference of its kind where seismologist from the UK and abroad get together. The first two meetings were held in Reading in 2017 and in Edinburgh two years later. This conference series is sponsored by the British Geophysical Association under their series "New Advances in Geophysics". The theme for this year's meeting is "New advances in multi-disciplinary seismology".

Technical contribution

In addition to showing the product line, we will present a technical contribution to the conference, in which we describe details of a newly developed and implemented approach to the design of seismic sensors. These new type of sensors are at the core of our THETA family of medium motion braodband sensors and the SIGMA family of accelerometers. The abstract to our paper can be found below.

Come visit us at BSM2022, 12-14 September 2022 at the Howard Conference Centre in Downing College, Cambridge.
